Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme
New round of Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) and the HKU main round of postgraduate admission (2018-2019). The Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Hong Kong is part of this program.
Established by the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong in 2009, the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme aims at attracting the best and brightest students in the world to pursue their PhD studies in Hong Kong’s tertiary institutions.
New applicants to full-time PhD programs in government-funded institutions in Hong Kong, irrespective of their country of origin and ethnic background, are eligible to apply. Applicants should demonstrate outstanding academic performance, research ability/potential, communication and interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities.
Successful PhD fellowship awardees will receive an attractive monthly stipend plus conference grant from the Research Grants Council. Candidates admitted through the HKU Main Round will also receive the normal (already quite generous) university fellowship.
Anyone interested in applying for HK PhD Fellowship Scheme and the postgraduate programs of the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Hong Kong should submit an online application before the deadline on 1st December 2017, at 12:00 noon (Hong Kong Time).
